Product Description
Socket head cap screws are high-strength internal hex drive screws used where compact head diameter, high clamp load and tool access from above are required. This range is supplied in 42CrMo, SCM435 and 40Cr with 10.9 / 12.9 strength options to DIN 912, ISO 4762 and ASTM A574 references.
They are used in machinery housings, tooling, rail equipment, EV fixtures, aerospace ground equipment, renewable energy accessories and precision assemblies. Compared with ordinary pan head screws, socket head cap screws support higher strength and more controlled tightening, but the mating thread and washer surface must be suitable for the clamp load.
Black oxide is common for machinery and controlled indoor assemblies, while zinc flake can be selected for better corrosion performance and controlled coating thickness. RFQs should confirm size, length, grade, thread pitch, finish, certificate requirements and whether locking nuts or wedge lock washers are needed.
