Product Description
DIN 985 / DIN 982 stainless nylon insert lock nuts are supplied in SS304 / SS316 with nylon insert for corrosion-resistant assemblies that need prevailing-torque locking. Common supply range is M3-M24 with passivated stainless body and matching stainless bolts or flat washers on request.
Nylon insert lock nuts, also called stainless nyloc nuts, resist loosening by creating friction between the nylon insert and the bolt thread. They are useful for vibration-resistant service where temperature, chemicals and reuse expectations are compatible with nylon insert performance.
SS304 / A2 nylon lock nuts suit general outdoor stainless assemblies, while SS316 / A4 is preferred for marine, coastal, washdown and chloride-exposed environments. For high-temperature joints, chemical exposure or critical preload control, confirm whether nylon insert lock nuts are approved by the project standard.

Selection
M8, M10 and M12 stainless nylon insert lock nuts are commonly used for selected PV brackets, clamps and accessory assemblies where vibration resistance is needed and service temperature allows nylon insert use.
Renewable energy fastenersSS316 / A4 nylon lock nuts are preferred for stainless marine hardware exposed to salt spray. Typical RFQs include M6, M8, M10 and M12 lock nuts paired with A4 bolts and flat washers.
Marine fastenersStainless nylon insert lock nuts can support railings, covers, brackets and service panels where loosening resistance is needed without a separate spring washer. M8, M10, M12 and M16 are common sizes.
Construction fastenersM5, M6, M8 and M10 stainless nyloc nuts are often requested for covers, access panels and brackets where prevailing-torque locking and maintenance access are important.
Railway fastenersSS316 / A4 lock nuts can be used on selected pumps, skids and stainless equipment where nylon insert compatibility is acceptable. Confirm temperature, chemical exposure, cleanability and certificate requirements before ordering.

FAQ
DIN 985 is the common low-type nylon insert lock nut, while DIN 982 is a higher-style nylon insert lock nut. The correct type should follow the drawing, available thread engagement and assembly requirement.
Yes. In many RFQs, nylon insert lock nuts are also called nyloc nuts or nylon lock nuts. Confirm the standard, size, material, nut height and thread pitch when ordering.
SS304 / A2 is suitable for general corrosion-resistant assemblies. SS316 / A4 is preferred for marine, coastal, washdown, chemical or chloride-exposed environments.
Common RFQ sizes include M5, M6, M8, M10, M12 and M16 stainless nylon insert lock nuts. Final standard, material, thread pitch and certificate requirements should be confirmed by drawing or purchase specification.
Nylon insert lock nuts are limited by nylon insert temperature and chemical compatibility. For high-temperature or aggressive chemical environments, confirm project approval or consider an all-metal locking option.
Yes. Stainless nylon insert lock nuts can be supplied alone or as matched bolt-washer-lock nut sets with stainless hex bolts and flat washers.
