ASTM F1554 anchor rods are supplied for column baseplates, machinery foundations, concrete embedment and structural anchorage where the project requires defined anchor rod grades. Common options include ASTM F1554 Grade 55 and Grade 105, with Q355 or 42CrMo project material equivalents where specified.
Anchor rod procurement should confirm grade, diameter, total length, thread length, end form, nut and washer requirement, template requirement, projection above concrete and whether the rods are cast-in, grouted or used with another anchoring system. ASTM F1554 covers anchor rods rather than generic threaded rods.
Plain finish may be used for embedded or controlled environments, hot-dip galvanizing is common for outdoor corrosion protection, and zinc plated finish may be used for selected indoor or light-duty applications. Galvanized threads require compatible nuts and allowance for coating thickness.
