DIN 3017 / SAE J1508 stainless worm drive hose clamps are supplied in SS304 / SS316 for marine machinery hose, ventilation ducting, low-pressure pipe connections and general corrosion-resistant clamping. Common clamping range is 8-120 mm with passivated stainless surface.
A worm drive hose clamp uses a band, housing and screw to tighten around a hose or duct. Correct selection should confirm clamping diameter range, band width, band thickness, screw material, housing material, edge condition and whether the assembly is fully stainless or mixed stainless.
SS304 clamps suit general outdoor and equipment service, while SS316 clamps are preferred for marine, coastal, washdown and chloride-exposed environments. Hose clamps should not be used as structural fasteners, pressure-rated flange clamps or safety-critical retaining devices unless the project specification approves the application.

SS304 is suitable for general corrosion-resistant service. SS316 is preferred for marine, coastal, washdown, chemical or chloride-exposed environments.
