DIN 6797 stainless toothed lock washers are supplied in SS304 / SS316 for corrosion-resistant screw and bolt assemblies where bite-locking, electrical bonding support or improved resistance to rotation is specified by drawing. Common supply range is M3-M16 with passivated finish.

Toothed lock washers, also called stainless star washers in some RFQs, use teeth to bite into the mating surface. This can support locking or bonding, but it may mark the surface and should be selected carefully for stainless, coated or hygienic equipment. Internal or external tooth form should be confirmed by drawing.

SS304 / A2 is suitable for general equipment assemblies, while SS316 / A4 is preferred for marine, coastal, washdown and chloride-exposed service. For critical vibration, preload-controlled or safety joints, confirm whether a toothed washer is approved by the project standard.
