Product Description

Product Description & Key Specifications

Stainless undercut anchors are mechanical concrete anchors designed to seat against a prepared undercut bearing zone inside the drilled hole. Instead of depending only on expansion friction, the anchor transfers tension and shear through mechanical bearing, which can reduce expansion stress in the concrete and improve reliability where cracked concrete, reduced edge distance or controlled displacement matters.

Common stainless supply covers SS304, SS316 and SS316L with A2-70, A4-70 and A4-80 strength references. M8-M30 metric sizes and project-controlled embedment depths are available for facade brackets, base plates, power equipment supports, coastal infrastructure and other outdoor concrete anchoring work.

Successful undercut anchor procurement should confirm concrete condition, hole diameter, undercut geometry, embedment depth, fixture thickness, installation tool, torque or setting requirement, approval document and inspection scope. For chloride exposure, marine atmospheres or wet service, SS316 / SS316L and A4 grades are normally preferred over SS304 / A2.

Selection

Selection Advantages by Application

Facade Brackets and Subframes

SS316 / A4 undercut anchors are selected for facade brackets, support rails and base plates where low expansion stress, chloride resistance and controlled installation are important.

Construction fasteners

Power and Renewable Equipment Bases

Undercut anchors can support auxiliary power equipment, cable tray bases, rooftop PV supports and exposed renewable structures when the project requires documented mechanical anchorage.

Power generation fasteners

Coastal and Marine Concrete

SS316 / SS316L stainless undercut anchors are preferred for coastal concrete, platforms, piers and wet service where ordinary plated anchors may corrode too quickly.

Marine fasteners

Retrofit Structural Attachments

For retrofit brackets, safety rails and service platforms, undercut anchors offer a mechanical locking option when adhesive systems are not preferred or installation time is constrained.

FAQ

Common Questions Before RFQ

When should undercut anchors be used instead of wedge anchors?

Undercut anchors are preferred when the project requires low expansion stress, controlled behavior in cracked concrete, reduced sensitivity to edge distance or a specific mechanical anchor approval. Wedge anchors remain suitable for many general concrete anchoring jobs.

What information is needed for an undercut anchor RFQ?

Confirm diameter, total length, embedment depth, fixture thickness, concrete condition, stainless grade, load requirement, approval document, installation tool, quantity and certificate package.

Can SS316 undercut anchors be used outdoors?

Yes. SS316 / A4 is commonly selected for outdoor, coastal, marine and wet environments. SS304 / A2 can be acceptable for less aggressive exposure, but chloride risk should be reviewed.

Do undercut anchors need a special setting tool?

Many undercut systems require a matching drill, undercutting tool or setting procedure. The required tool and inspection method should be confirmed before ordering.

Can approval documents and inspection reports be supplied?

Material certificates, certificates of conformity, dimensional reports and applicable approval documents can be supplied when requested and when the product design follows that approval scope.
