Product Description

Product Description & Key Specifications

EN 14399 structural washers are hardened washers used in preloaded structural bolting systems for wind tower flanges, railway infrastructure, bridge steelwork and heavy steel connections. They are supplied to EN 14399-6 / DIN 6916 with 300HV or 350HV hardness requirements depending on the assembly specification.

These washers are selected for controlled bearing support under the bolt head or nut in structural joints. They should not be replaced by ordinary flat washers when the project specifies EN 14399 dimensions, hardness, chamfer, coating or assembly behavior. Material options include 40Cr, 42CrMo and 42CrMo4.

Hot-dip galvanized washers are common for outdoor steel structures, while zinc flake finish can be selected where corrosion protection and controlled coating thickness are required. Washer size, hardness, finish and assembly pairing should match the EN 14399 bolt and nut system before ordering.

FAQ

Common Questions Before RFQ

What is EN 14399-6 used for?

EN 14399-6 covers hardened washers used with high-strength preloaded structural bolting assemblies in steel construction.

Are EN 14399 washers the same as ordinary flat washers?

No. EN 14399 washers have specified structural dimensions and hardness. Ordinary flat washers should not replace them in preloaded structural assemblies.

What is the difference between 300HV and 350HV washers?

They refer to washer hardness classes. The required class depends on the bolt assembly standard and project specification.

Which finishes are available?

Hot-dip galvanized and zinc flake finishes are available. Selection should match corrosion requirements and the rest of the bolt-nut-washer system.

Can washers be supplied with hardness reports?

Yes. Hardness reports, dimensional reports, coating reports and material certificates can be supplied when specified in the RFQ.

Need EN 14399 structural washers?

Send washer size, hardness class, finish, matching bolt/nut system, quantity and documentation needs. We can quote EN 14399-6 / DIN 6916 washers for wind, railway and bridge projects.
