Product Description

Product Description & Key Specifications

Pivot pins are precision mechanical pins used in linkage joints, equipment pivots, cylinder mounts, bucket linkages, steering joints and heavy-duty machinery assemblies. They are supplied to OEM drawings with ISO 2341 and DIN 1434 references where applicable, using 42CrMo, 40Cr or 4140 hardened and tempered steel.

A pivot pin is normally specified by diameter, overall length, shoulder length, groove position, cross-hole, grease groove, chamfer, hardness, surface finish and mating bushing requirement. Unlike simple retaining pins, pivot pins carry load and wear, so material, heat treatment, surface condition and dimensional tolerance directly affect service life.

Phosphate and black oxide finishes are used for controlled machinery environments, zinc plating provides general corrosion protection, and hard chrome is selected where wear resistance and surface hardness are required. Common project diameters range from 20 mm to 120 mm, with production based on OEM drawings rather than standard length tables.

Selection

Selection Advantages by Application

Construction Machinery Linkages

42CrMo / 4140 pivot pins are used in excavators, loaders, bulldozers and lifting equipment linkages where high load, wear and shock resistance are required.

Construction equipment fasteners

Hydraulic Cylinder and Equipment Pivots

Pivot pins support hydraulic cylinder mounts, hinge points and equipment pivots. Cross holes, grease grooves and retaining features should follow the OEM drawing.

Industrial equipment fasteners

Hard Chrome Wear Applications

Hard chrome pivot pins can be specified where wear resistance, sliding contact and surface hardness are important. Confirm chrome thickness and tolerance after plating.

FAQ

Common Questions Before RFQ

Are pivot pins standard parts or drawing parts?

Most pivot pins are made to OEM drawings because diameter, length, holes, grooves, hardness and finish vary by equipment design.

What materials are used for heavy-duty pivot pins?

42CrMo, 40Cr and 4140 are common alloy steels for hardened and tempered machinery pins.

When should hard chrome be specified?

Hard chrome is used when wear resistance, sliding contact or surface hardness is required. Final diameter tolerance after plating must be controlled.

Can split pins be supplied with pivot pins?

Yes. Split pins or other retaining hardware can be supplied when the pivot pin design includes cross holes or retaining features.

What documents are available?

Material certificates, heat treatment reports, hardness reports, dimensional reports and coating reports can be supplied according to RFQ requirements.

Need OEM pivot pins for machinery linkages?

Send your drawing, material, diameter, length, holes, grooves, hardness, finish and certificate requirements. We can quote 20-120 mm hardened and tempered pivot pins for construction and industrial equipment.
