Stainless slotted pan head self tapping screws are used for exposed hardware, sheet metal fixing, access panels and maintenance-friendly assemblies where a simple slotted drive is preferred. The pan head provides bearing area on the surface, while the self tapping thread forms its mating thread in suitable sheet or pre-drilled material.
DIN 7971 / ISO 1481 screws are specified by ST size, length, head form, slotted drive, stainless grade and finish. Because slotted drive torque capacity is limited compared with socket or cross recess drives, pilot hole size, installation torque and tool access should be checked carefully.
SS304 / A2 provides general corrosion resistance for construction hardware and interior equipment. SS316 / A4 is recommended for coastal, chloride, washdown and selected rail exterior conditions. Passivated finish is standard for corrosion performance; polishing can be requested for visible stainless hardware.
